You don’t have to construct the plot, develop characters or write pages of dialogue. All you have to do is fix the things that don’t work. So please explain the blatant, frequent, major FAILS noticeable by even the most inattentive readers.
Do you simply not notice?
Do you think any mistakes will solely reflect badly on the author, if at all?
Or do you figure the target audience just won’t notice? (I’m looking at you, Young Adult editors!)

I agree with what you wrote, here. When reading, I notice a LOT of mistakes, and wonder, “What are the editors DOING?”…
